Introductory Course in Natural Farming

Bhaskar Save Natural Farming Learning Centre

21st to 25th November, 2018


The main course will be conducted by Bhaskarbhai Save’s sons, Nareshbhai Save and Sureshbhai Save, assisted by Abhijay Save (grandson), with one or two guest lectures, and translations into English by Bharat Mansata. It offers an intensive 10 hour schedule each day, packed with lectures, practical field work, visits to 2-3 neighbouring natural farms/orchards, and ending with post-dinner question-answer discussions from 9.15 to 10.30 pm each day.

Participants are expected to reach the Centre at Kalpavruksha farm by about 6 pm on 20th November 2018, and stay till 25th November, 3pm.

Course fee: Rs. 4000, of which Rs.2000 should be paid in advance to confirm your participation. The balance Rs. 2000/- should be paid when you arrive at Kalpavruksha .
• Fee includes simple veg. food and basic accommodation.

A maximum of 20 participants will be accepted

What to carry:
1. A small torch
2. A bed-sheet & a shawl/chuddar (mattresses will be provided)
3. Comfortable clothes
4. Basic toiletry
5. Cap/ sweater according to season
6. Necessary medicines, if taking any

HOW TO REACH KALPAVRUKSHA (Bhaskar Save’s farm):
Kalpavruksha is situated in Dehri, the southernmost village of Gujarat on the coast of Arabian Sea, about 5 km from Umbergaon Rly station on the Western Railway

AIR: Mumbai is the nearest airport from where you would need to travel onward by train or car.

Rail: This is is the most convenient mode of travel to reach Umbergaon railway station on the Western Railway (Mumbai-Ahmedabad route). It is about 150km north of Mumbai.
There are auto-rickshaws available from Umbergaon Stn (west) to Dehri village. All auto-rickshaw drivers from Dehri know Bhaskar Save’s farm, and would charge about Rs. 80 for hiring the entire auto.

Road: Coming from Mumbai, drive along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway (NH8); then turn left at Talasari. After that the road is Talasari>Solsumba (Umbergaon station) >Dehari> Coastal Highway.
Kalpavruksha is situated on the Coastal Highway (Umbergaon->Bordi Road).
